Find your fika
coffee & conversations
Fika (pronounced fee-ka) – is a swedish concept that reflects the daily tradition of enjoying coffee & a treat with friends. But, fika means so much more than just a coffee break. As described by the authors of Fika: The Art of the Swedish Coffee Break,
Functioning as both a verb & a noun, the concept of fika is simple. It is the moment that you take a break, often with a cup of coffee…You can do it at home, in a park or at work. But the essential thing is that you do it, that you make time to take a break: that’s what fika is all about.
Find Your Fika Event Series aims to connect like-minded individuals by facilitating authentic and enriching conversations & interactions.

& those craving conversation
Find Your Fika Event Series aims to connect like-minded individuals by facilitating authentic & enriching conversations & interactions. These events are meant to educate, entertain, & inspire our community. We tackle relevant issues & topics while cultivating shared experience throughout our guided discussions & thoughtful activities.
As we were brainstorming what to name this event series, we were researching and brainstorming different names centered around the themes of connecting, friendship, conversation, & self development. Through this process, we came across the term fika. Neither of us had heard of it before but as we did some initial digging, the term resonated with us immediately.
To us, fika means dedicating daily time, even if it’s only a few minutes, to pause. To slow down for a moment to reflect, to contemplate, to connect. It’s the moment you look forward to every day simply because it’s for you.
Our Find Your Fika event series is inspired by the desire to connect with others who, like us, are in search of connections, conversations, & community.

Calling all coffee-shop owners
For each event in the Find Your Fika event series, we are excited to host our workshops in partnership with a local coffeeshop. We’re currently on the look out for coffee shops in (& around) Edmonton & Vancouver.
We work closely with each venue to come up with a package that provides great value to everyone involved. Events can be curated to suit the space, but will typically require seating for 15-20 guests. Ticket prices will usually include coffee and a pastry for each patron.
